Heat sink for LED street light
If an enterprise wants to produce high-quality LED street lights, it must first do a good job of designing the heat sink of the lamp. As long as the heat dissipation problem is solved, the long life advantage of LED street lights can be realized. Therefore, the heat dissipation problem is a key problem that high-quality LED street lights must overcome. At present, there are two main heat dissipation methods used in LED street lights: one is passive heat dissipation; the other is active heat dissipation.

1. Passive heat dissipation:
Through the natural convection between the surface of the lamp body of the led street lamp and the air, the heat generated by the led street lamp is dissipated. This kind of heat dissipation method is simple in design, easy to combine with the mechanical structure design of the led street lamp, and easily meets the protection level requirements of the lamp, and the cost is low. This heat dissipation method is currently the most widely used one. The heat is first transferred to the aluminum substrate of the led street lamp through the soldering layer, and then the thermal conductive adhesive of the aluminum substrate is transferred to the lamp housing. Secondly, the lamp housing is conducted to each heat sink, and finally the heat generated by the LED street lamp will be taken away by the convection between the heat sink and the air. This method has a simple structure, but the heat dissipation efficiency is relatively low.
2. Active heat dissipation is mainly through water cooling and fans to increase the air flow speed on the surface of the radiator to take away the heat on the heat sink and improve the heat dissipation efficiency. This method has a relatively high heat dissipation efficiency, but requires additional power consumption. Such a heat dissipation method reduces the system efficiency of the led street lamp, and the design is very difficult.
